Why should the government fund the arts?

I mean the idea of art is to express creative freedom. So if the government funds your art, then you're expected to create art that furthers that government party's agenda. So how can you call that art "freedom of expression" if the government is paying for it and telling you what to create? Doesn't that make you nothing more than a commissioned worker for the government and not really an artist at all? How can you call yourself free?

Please help! My dog can't stand up?

I have a 2 year old great dane, he's been acting sick for a couple weeks. Lethargy, very swollen abdomen, weight loss, loss of appetite. We got his blood test results back & his creatinine levels were 3.5 so his kidneys aren't functioning properly. Now he can't stand up.. His back legs are so weak. What could be causing this?

It sounds like you are so there should be no problems. does she earn these treats ; like completing her chores etc; if so then you are doing everything right; I insisted my boys took ten percent of what they received [ cash wise] and banked it . If they got $100 , they banked $10.00 of it . That also taught them about saving for the things they want. It doesn't hurt to occasionally say no either. As we mature we then get to learn we won't always get our way and some things have to be earned and worked towards. It is alright to give when you can ; but it is better to reap the reward, once earned . I believe that is where your mother is coming from. good luck ; hope this helps.

You don't need to go to college to do that. Besides, it would be low paying if you got paid at all, and you'd have trouble paying off student loans.

It is becoming more important for people in these fields to have some knowledge of biology since we now know that it plays an important role in mental health. Getting a Master's in counseling or social work will require less science and statistics than getting a Master's degree in psychology.

Why is my dog so afraid of me?

Its just really recently he has been my dog for 7 or 8 years now and I have never been abuse to him I give him treats and pet him and stuff but really recently whenever I walk In the door he barks at me like he has no clue who I am and when I go to pet him he runs scared and he is the only one that does i have another dog that is only a year younger and he isn't scared and I have another puppy who is s great Dane Thad not scared but this yellow lab is so frightened of me and I don't know why he has been my pet for so long
