Breeding great dane question?

in about a year my great dane turns 2 and we are going to breed her. the question is, when she has the puppies my mom said that if i got a job next summer so that i could pay for the food than i could keep one. i want a male and be able to show him so he wouldn't be able to be fixed. is there any way to make sure he doesn't "be rated R" with his mom?
