Are nursing jobs still high paying and In need?

Im 19, I spent a year out of high school trying things but not knowing exactly what I want to do. Im thinking about doing a quick 1-2 year nursing program when I register for college this summer, but Im curious if the pay will satisfy a comfortable lifestyle while working toward furthering your carreer in the medical feild or even a diffrent career, while in nursing pay. Also alot of people I ask say they want to do nursing, do you think it will become flooded in the coming years and mabe less pay? Im not sure what the chances are of landing a good paying job as a nurse is either
