It is okay to put one nuvaring in after another?

I've always had heavy periods and horrible cramps and other symptoms when on my period. I thought nuvaring would at least lighten my period but it hasn't (I've been on it for about 3 or 4 months). The last time I got my period it lasted NINE days instead of my normal seven days. So I was just wondering if it would be okay if after the 21 days of having the nuvaring in, I could take that old one out and put a new one in on the same day so that I could skip my torturous period.
