What is the difference between a High-School teacher and a college professor?
A high school teacher has a bachelors, maybe a masters in their field. A professor at a 2-year school has at least a masters, and you need a PhD in your field to teach at the college level. College usually pays better than high school, although sometimes not by much. You will be expected to do original research in your field at the college level, publish papers, and advise students in research projects as well as teach. It's a lot harder to get a job teaching college; there are far more PhDs who want to teach than there are jobs for them.
