What major would be best for me?

I have been taking World History (10th grade) and I believe I have been successful in this course. My teacher introduced government and I have become interested and seem to have caught on very well. I have furthered my studies in my free time. While reading on government I came across economics but not have gone in depth with the subject. Will someone please explain what to expect from an economics class? What will I learn? Second, when interested in the subject of government what would I major/minor in?
